Jigsaw Publications prides itself on innovation and good human service.
It has been suggested to us and it may have been suggested to you, that our products or services infringe an innovation patent held by RPL Central Pty Ltd.
These suggestions, while annoying, are quite groundless.
Jigsaw Publications' service offerings were entrenched two years before RPL Central lodged its patent application. Our service hasn’t changed in any material way since then.
Our products, SkillsTracer ™ and EasyRPL, are materially different to the patented product of RPL Central. In particular, we don't use a computer to retrieve relevant assessable criteria, via the internet, from a remotely located server. We also don’t use a computer to process the assessable criteria to automatically generate questions relating to the competency of an individual to satisfy competency and performance criteria.
Rather than leave these important tasks to a computer, our application uses humans! Our human education specialists carefully review the data and compile the most appropriate questions to assess students’ existing skills and knowledge. We believe that this provides the best result.
If anyone should receive a communication from RPL Central which suggests that we are infringing RPL Central's patent (or that we are doing something else wrong!) we would be grateful if you would let us know.
